Karen Madsen was born and raised in Smithers, BC, but left her hometown for the bright lights of Vancouver in 1985.  After completing a B.A. in Political Science she developed a passion for the wine business when her mother started living in California’s famous Sonoma County. Karen initially worked as an import sales rep, but soon learned that her greatest interest and talent lay in the field of event planning. She joined Dana Lee Consulting Ltd. in 2011 and now specializes in event planning and execution, noting that she gets her greatest satisfaction from seeing an event through from inception to successful conclusion. In her spare time she enjoys sharing food and wine with good friends, and spending time with her partner Chris and their two cats.
